Right, Wrong, and How We Should Treat Others

Have you ever helped a friend who was sad? 🤝 Or shared something you really wanted to keep? Those moments felt right, didn't they? Today we find out how three big religions teach people about doing what is right and treating others well.

Every religion has teachings that guide believers. A teaching is like a wise rule that helps people know how to behave. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all have teachings about being kind, fair, and caring for others.

In Christianity, Jesus taught something called the Golden Rule. He said: treat other people the way you would like them to treat you. So if you want to be treated kindly, you should be kind to others first.

In Judaism, there is a very similar teaching. A famous rabbi called Hillel said: do not do to others what you would not want done to you. Jewish people call caring for others Tikkun Olam, which means repairing the world. 🌍

In Islam, the Prophet Muhammad taught: none of you truly believes until you want for your neighbour what you want for yourself. Muslims try to show this through acts of generosity and helping people who are in need.

How do believers put these teachings into action? Christians might volunteer at a food bank. Jewish people might give to charity, called Tzedakah. Muslims give part of their money to help poor people, called Zakat. These are real things people do every week! 🍞💰

These values are not only for religious people. Many people — whether they follow a religion or not — also believe in being kind, sharing, and treating others fairly. These ideas matter to everyone! 🌟
